About
Good colors are already everywhere.
Sometimes you don’t need to invent a palette. You just need to pull one out of the image sitting in front of you.
Palettae does exactly that.
Drop in an image. Keep the colors. Move on. That’s pretty much it.
The bit we cared about
There are a lot of palette extractors and most of them have the same problem: they hand back five versions of the same colour. On a photograph that is mostly wall, counting pixels returns wall, wall, wall, wall and wall. Getting past that is most of the work, and it is where the time went.
The other thing we cared about is that nothing gets uploaded. Not as a promise in a policy — as the way it is built. Your image is decoded and analysed in your own browser, which is why there is no account, why it is fast, and why it can be free.
What it costs
Nothing, and it is supported by advertising. Ads sit below the tool and below the results, never between your image and your palette and never next to a button you are trying to press. A tool that gets in its own way is not worth the revenue.
Enough about it. Try it.
